This week while my daughter was home for the Easter weekend, we visited some places that I consider inspiring.  Not only for me but her as well.  As a matter of fact they brought back some of my most embarrassing and wild ideas that I usually don't share with most.
  Oh boy!

Ok, so maybe this isn't inspiring, but it sure was GOOD!  First time eating here...I'll definitely be back!

Not so well known fact: I eat pizza at least twice a week. (don't judge)

Que Sera'
Edina, MN
Shabby Chic inspiration...got my eye on that window!

Not so well known fact: I don't look at prices, I usually just buy what I like
(don't judge & don't tell my hubby)

Also at Que Sera'...too dang cute and why can't I sew!?!?

Not so well known fact: I wanted to make capes in a previous life. (effects of too much coffee, don't judge)

Still here...lovin' the wall art and the wall behind it!  Did I mention my daughter LOVES Shabby Chic? That means "old" to me BUT, I will buy it new if it looks old...make sense??

Not so well known fact: I dislike antiques because they smell and I'm scared of their history. (don't judge)

Oh, yes! Now we're talkin'....cupcakes!
Not so well known fact: I used to think I could be a baker and own my own bakery.
(stop laughing & don't judge)

You have know idea what we went through to get to this place...My kind of inspiration!

Not so well known fact: Bryana ate two cupcakes before we even got home!

One (2) of these things is not like the other, one (2) of these things is not the same (Sesame Street tune)
Old Navy does not inspire me, BUT my never bashful kids do!

Not so well known fact: I was ticked off at Mall of America & pretty much complained the entire time we were there on Easter because 90% of their stores were closed!

Operation Easter Basket

What's my motto...say it with me...ANY EXCUSE TO CELEBRATE!

Bryana's home, it's Easter...yep, good enough!

Enjoy!
She's Back!!

A whole lotta huggin' goin' on!

Doesn't get any better!

They really DO love each other!

My precious girl!

Lovin' her daddy!

Happy Easter Mocha!

Something about this is NOT right!

Yep, I'm THAT mom!

Let me just say that my kids are 18 & 14...pray for me!

Crusty eyes, stinky morning breath and all
...that's how we do it!

(DISCLAIMER: The true meaning of Easter was not lost in the adding of bunny ears, tails and colored eggs...Not only did He Jesus die for our sins but so we can also love and enjoy life with a good sense of humor.)

Happy Easter Everyone!

Good Friday...

I absolutely love this time of year.
My family claims I say that about every season! :)
Spring, Track, Easter, and this year my Breezy's coming home from school to spend the holiday with us! I even declared this weekend

"Operation Easter Basket"!
(check out my next few posts)

However, with all the exciting events that are happening, I cannot forget the

true meaning
of the celebration.  It's

"Good Friday"
and without "today", there would be no celebration.  As a child every year my mom, sister and I would watch Jesus of Nazareth.  Back then it was a three part series and each night I would come in from playing outdoors, eat, shower and dive right into the TV.  I'm not sure why I was so drawn to this man that seemed to be treated so badly and yet loved everyone he came in contact with.  I would watch it until the very end.

We weren't a
religious family
and pretty much only went to church on Easter, but for some reason my mom would welcome us to watch it with her.  I remember crying and asking my mom why they had to

kill this man.
There was just something that was so real and fascinating about what I witnessed.  I can recall the weather, always raining and the mood was very somber on the day named "Good Friday".

Many years later,
 I am still captivated
by "that man".  Not the actor, but the man, the son of God that laid down His life for me even before I was born and even had a clue of what I was watching as a child.  I am very thankful to my mom for setting the channel on Jesus of Nazareth every year.  Those are some of my fondest memories as a child.  I believe they were seeds being planted for
my faith today.

I will dye eggs, I will buy my kids unnecessary things and even get dressed up to attend church on Easter Sunday, BUT I will never forget what took place thousands of years ago for my
life in Christ today!

Who are these people that clip coupons and actually use them at stores??  The ones that only pay $2 for $200 worth of groceries??  Have you seen them?  Are you one of them??  OMGoodness...I'm a wannabe!!

Maybe it's just me, but I am SO inspired!

We ♥ Mondays!

Although my work is very busy...I look forward to starting my day with my coffee and my Breezy!  This morning I was able to chat with her a bit longer than usual.  We caught up on each other's weekend which led us in a discussion on how
we both heart Mondays!

  You may be wondering WHY??
1. We are very structured people and love the normal routine of life.

2. The people around us go to work and or school...giving us some peace (no offense to anyone).

3. Monday is back to business.

4. Coffee just tastes better on Mondays.

5. Monday we feel refreshed from a good weekend.

6. It's cleaning day...(I never said we weren't different).

7. Did I say people are back to work & school already??

8. You can catch up with friends that you havn't talked to all weekend.

9. You tend to have a fresh perspective on things.

10. We can start planning for the next weekend!

Happy Monday!

If I LOVE It...

I want to share it!

Spring is in the air and that means, cleaning, purging, decluttering and DECORATING!!  I love the fresh look of a new season and it inspires me to do something fresh and new to the inside of my home.  What better way than...Uppercase Living.  I absolutley love this company!  No, I do not sell it, but I will always promote it!

Here are some ideas that I have in my home as well as others that I have seen.

Uppercase Living vinyl can be used indoors or out, on flat or lightly textured surfaces. The tradition vinyl can be easily removed after 2 months or 2 years (or longer) but cannot be reapplied. UL has developed lines that can be removed and reused. These lines include the Photoprints, Blackboard and Dry-erase vinyl, and the Decorative Prints line.

You can order from hundreds of pre-designed expressions or you can create your own custom expression from my demonstrator's website

Saturday Morning Stand Off!

It goes a little something like this...

Not coming in the house willingly, so treats get introduced...

Don't let that innocent look fool you...

He weighs his options...

And he's in...

But not without a chase...

Happy Saturday....CLEANING! Ugh!

WAY Back Wednesday!

*The Spring/Childhood Edition*

I decided to do a spin on what I usually call Way Back Wednesdays. Lately there has been lots of talks about my childhood around here so I've been reminiscing on what my life was like this time of year when I was a kid and the things I just couldn't go without.

Anyone remember.....

Twister

You couldn't go to a sleepover without playing this!

How about waking up and eating this...

Yep, that's Cookie Crisp Cereal!  That was my all time favorite (surprised?)!

I'll tell you what...who didn't jump out of bed early on Saturday Mornings for cartoons?

What happened to the good cartoons!? Couldn't leave to go play without watching these two!

Speaking of cartoons...Chuck-E-Cheese doesn't have nothing on

Show Biz Pizza!

Spring time means "ding, ding, ding"...
The Ice Cream Man
(I have a post coming soon on that one)!
What'd you run down the street for??

And how can I forget The Skating Rink...Oh and don't forget your Pink Poms!

Whew, that was fun!

Did I spark any memories?? Let's hear em'!

I Have A Confession To Make...

Yesterday I had my son run into the store and purchase a Cherry Coke for me.  When we got home, I opened it like normal and some of it fizzled up almost spilling out of the top.  And then it hit me....

I confessed to my husband, (with some giggles of course), of the times my sister and I would be demanded to go to the store and get a Pepsi for our mom.  If anyone KNEW my mom when I was a kid, they would know she LOVED her Pepsi!  Back then when they came out of a cold machine, they were canned not bottled. OMGoodness am I old??

Now, my mom would call us on our cell phones....GOTCHA, you know there were no such things back then.  She would call out our names from out of the window and no matter what we were doing, swimming, hide-n-go-seek, roller skating, red rover, double dutch, etc., we would come running (or else)!

Because we were always into the best part of whatever we were playing,
we would NOT be happy to hear the call.
But as any smart kid would do, we went to the store as we were told for her beloved Pepsi.

Here's the part where I must confess... After we purchased her Pepsi, I'll say "I", (don't wanna implicate my sister who is 6 years older than me and should have known better), would shake, shake and shake some more that cold can of Pepsi!  I think I remember even tossing it to the ground a few times picking it back up and shaking it some more.  Don't judge me, you know you stuck out your tongue to your mother when she wasn't looking!

We would run into the house, drop off the Pepsi, give her all of the change of course, then off we went.  As we ran out giggling, I can still hear my mom say $%#@!& Shannon!!

What??  I promise I'm a good girl now!!

Just Another MANLY Monday...

In my last post I mentioned what a busy weekend we had.

Well, this morning I woke up still thinking about ALL the work that was done and truthfully,

I had little to do with it.  At least not the physical part.  Because my hubster is

very private and humble,  I wanted to give him this Monday to be front and center!

Plus I asked for his permission, heehee!

Here it goes....

Moved and assembled a very heavy table.
Overstayed volunteering at a basketball tournament.
Never once complained about my "honey-do" list.
Dedicated his Sunday morning to workout with his son.
Achieved some serious raking the backyard points.
Yep, he'd do it all over again, with no hesitation.

Just another Manly Monday...
Love you!

A Terrific Ending

Productive. Mobile. Scheduled.
Accomplished. Focused.

These are all words that describe our weekend.  It could also be called, "how many things can you get done in two days."  With the onset of Spring, means house projects and outdoor chores are in full swing.

All work + no play = NOT HAPPENIN' for me....

And they lived happily ever after... (smile)
