Kids Off To Camp

Just a few hours ago we dropped our kids off to go to Camp.  It has been about 3 years since they've last gone, but this year was pretty special.  Jayson actually was the one who insisted on going, as this will be his sister Bre's last year at church camp.  When they have gone in the past, they have had much more than just good kid fun, but a real encounter with God.  It's a great time (5days) to go a few hours away, no cell phones, facebook, and junk from the regular world....but God, friends, worship and God's Word.  I love that they WANTED to go and I can't wait to hear all about it.  Their past experience tells me they will be pumped up, on fire and eager to do whatever they heard from the Lord.  What an amazing opportunity.

Happy Father's Day

What a great man God chose to be the head of this family!  We honor him today...always working to provide, always willing to lend a hand, the perfect workout partner, goes the extra mile to make the comforts of home, always has an encouraging word, shows us the meaning of true discipline, and never hesitates to have the best bonfires on the block!

Sit back dad, relax, enjoy your day... WE LOVE YOU!

End of Spring Ball

For a second year Jayson was apart of the AAU Team GetShook.  This year he played with five new boys that he's played against during the winter league.  Playing under a new coach and with a total of ten players, they were all very skilled and brought different elements to the Spring Team.  Jayson played hard and was given the "Mr. Hustle" award at one of the tournaments.  We traveled to the Jayhawk Jr. Invitational in KC, Missouri and to the NY2LA Tournament in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  What a great learning and growing experience Jayson had.

This year because of our upcoming trip to Texas with Bre, we had to pass up the annual trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Although he was disappointed not to participate he expressed his appreciation for being able to travel to do what he loves at such a young age.

Greatful for the opportunity!

Last Day of School!

The kids made it through their 12th & 7th grade year of school and we couldn't be more proud!  Bryana's ending marks an incredible milestone, but I can't forget about my Jayson!  This is only his 3rd year in "school" since being Home Schooled from Kindergarden.  Each year is a testiment to his hard work and dedication.  He went from being a below average student, even having to shake off some labels, to achieving Honor Roll three out of four quarters this year!

Good grades are good, perserverence is great, but being true to yourself is priceless.  With all of the drama, peer pressure and hype that's out there these days, I am most proud of my kids for staying close to God, honoring their parents and staying focused on what they believe in.

Well done "young" Team Edwards!
